Experiences are a huge part of what we do, on the web and in real life – and we’re not always the ones creating them. Being a smaller team, we get to hop on other teams’ projects pretty often, and in many cases the experiences themselves are not intended as XM at all. In the case of Revel Food there is always an experience; the food rocks, consistently and that’s all I’m going to say about that right now. 2017 saw a new off-shoot of the Revel Food pop-up concept, Opera and Fried Rice. An experience all on its own, one you truly HAVE to experience, and still is exactly what it states itself to be: Opera… and… Fried Rice (witch duck). When we hear about things like this, that our awesome friends are doing – we jump at the chance to cover it, after all – it goes without saying we get to try the food too.

Covering, taking part, and even helping out with events like Revel is always a slice! We always have room in our brains for more ideas and more connections. Experiential Marketing requires research and inspiration like anything else. Experimenting with new design platforms, or video codecs – how things look – could be equated to experimenting with ingredients and music – how things taste and sound… Or I could be hungry.
