The Kandy Gallery Toronto at Hotel X

The fine art photography of Neil Dankoff is on display in Toronto at it’s permanent home located inside Toronto’s newest executive-class hotel, Hotel X. The Toronto / Montreal based photographer showcases his work in galleries here in Toronto, Montreal, Memphis and Dallas.

The photographer was commissioned by the hotel and received funding and afforded two years to travel the world and compose his ‘hyper-realist’ large-scale landscapes. The compositions on display feature scenes from Iceland to China and from Bolivia to South Africa – and the photographer delivered 800 final shots for the project for print and use in the hotel.

When presented with the notion of doubling up on prints inside the actual hotel rooms to save cost, the hotel group (Library Hotel Group) owner shunned the very notion saying “I would never put up two of the same photo in my own house,” – Classic!

Dankoff uses multiple exposure techniques with multiple focal point to create breathtakingly ‘real looking’ images. The images are really incredible so, even if you don’t plan on staying at “Toronto’s Lakeshore Urban Resort” – it’s worth a trip if you’re into really cool photos.
