‘ALL MY LIES’ by Apricity

Music Video Production

Apricity is an independent alternative recording artist from Toronto, Canada who recently broke onto the Canadian scene in a big way with her first single ‘All My Lies’. The song has received intensive press-coverage and the music video has received over 100,000 views on YouTube, and counting, to date. Toronto Creatives Director Jesse Read worked with the artist and the Toronto Creatives production team to bring this 1800’s vision of pop-rock-horror to life. ‘All My Lies’ was filmed at Country Heritage Park in Milton, Ontario. at a number of their historical locations, including the turn-of-the-century farmhouse that was also featured in the 2017 feature film remake of the classic Canadian story ‘Anne of Green Gables’.

Read worked closely with the artist to develop the narrative for a video that would complement the song’s edgy alt-rock style and stay in-line with the artist’s vision. The video includes visions of ghosts, plague doctors, and a live raven (that guy was a pro). Not wanting to rely on CGI, Read opted to do many of the special effects as a mix of in-camera visual effects and editing techniques for a more natural ‘dark-magic’ look.

The music video amassed over 60,000 views organically within only a few weeks of its release. The artist is currently working with Toronto Creatives on her second music video.
