Toronto’s Museum of Illusions (Video)

Toronto has seen a modest explosion in the past couple of years of ‘Experiences’ – it’s not much of a surprise as the trend of interactive art has been on the rise ever since huge interactive visually-driven installations such as Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrors, the success of which was so overwhelming the Art Gallery of Ontario opted to make it a permanent installation. There have also been several private ‘experiences’ opening around the city – seemingly just built to entice Instagramers to visit like Happy Place and The Bay’s 7th Floor. While there are just too many of these to cover and let’s face it they are generally not all that different – when we came across the Toronto Museum of Illusions we thought it had a bit more of an interesting take on interactive experiential visuals. The ability to experience the visual illusions we all learned about in art class.
